I am a registered medical practitioner, Consultant Psychiatrist and on the GMC Specialist Register. I am approved under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act 1983, and have been a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists since 2006. I am fluent in Cantonese and have been in preparing psychiatric expert witness reports in medico-legal practice for the past six years.
I obtained my degree in medicine and surgery (MBBS) from the University of London in 1997 and completed my Psychiatric training between 2000 and 2010 where upon I became a consultant psychiatrist and currently work as Locum Consultant Psychiatrist. I have experience in assessing and treating mental disorders in people of working age and particular specialist expertise in assessing and treating people with learning disabilities.
I am a Deprivation of Liberty Assessor under the Mental Capacity Act 2005, Honorary lecturer at Bristol University, peer reviewer for the “Psychiatrist” Journal, have enhanced CRB clearance and a clean driving licence.
Types of Case work
I am regularly involved in the following types of Court cases:-
– Assessment and treatment of people in the general population who offend (e.g.; Fitness to plead, Risk assessments and Disposal Options)
– Assessment and treatment of people who have a learning disability who offend (e.g.; Fitness to plead, Risk assessments and Disposal Options)
– Specialist assessments and treatment of people with Autistic Spectrum conditions including Aspergers Syndrome.
– Personal injury or employment disputes related to a psychiatric condition or trauma.
– Assessment of Mental Disorders as they present in Asylum Seekers.
